Just reading news, statistics on depression could be disheartening. Media primary focuses on how terrible things are – “Pill-popping Britain: UK takes more anti-depressants than almost all of Europe” (Daily Mail 21 November 2013). “Someone Googles ‘Depression’ Every Two Seconds In The UK” (Huffington Post 19 January 2015).

The good news about depression – you are not alone.

Even better news – there is a way to re-program our minds, therefore emotions, consequently behaviour , thus habits and results.

Clinical Hypnotherapy is a remarkably powerful process to re-align the conscious mind with naturally positive thought patterns. Hypnosis boosts the lower frequency brain waves associated with sleeping and dreaming and drops the higher frequency waves associated with full wakefulness. These unresolved feelings, such as fear, guilt, regret, resentment, blame, anger, jealousy are energetically stored in the body and must be released in order to move forward. They otherwise become deeply buried beneath the numbness created by the anti-depressants and addictions. Clinical hypnotherapy removes the underlying cause of depression and creates peace with the past, that otherwise continues to recycle as self-sabotaging thoughts and behaviours.

3. Hypnosis helps to release stored negative emotions

With hypnotherapy, we can go down to the deepest level of the most traumatic experiences, memories and stored emotions to release them from the energetic field. Through hypnosis new neurological connections are created in the mind to allow people to see situations in a more positive way. When this process is completed, people feel that their depression has lifted, they let go of compulsive thoughts or behaviours that no longer serve them.

4. Hypnosis helps to replace trauma with empowerment

Many people see me to calm their stressed minds down and improve sleeping patters. Hypnotherapy is one of the most effective ways to overcome insomnia, sleep deprivation and any sleep problems. ‘4-7-8’ breathing technique – You simply breathe in through your nose for four seconds, hold your breath for seven seconds, and exhale through your mouth for eight seconds.

When you feel stressed or anxious, adrenaline courses through your veins, your heart beats at a rapid rate, and your breathing becomes quick and shallow. The effect of the breathing technique feels almost like a sedative drug, because in order to hold your breath for seven seconds and then to exhale for eight—when your breath is so shallow and short—your body is forced to slow your heart rate. It has no choice. Holding your breath, and then slowly, deliberately exhaling for eight seconds, causes a chain reaction. It feels like going from a mad-dash sprint to a finish line to a slow, leisurely, calming stroll through the park.

You can literally feel your heart rate slow down, your mind get quieter, and your whole body physically relax. It washes over you like a calming, relaxing drug.

Now to the more technical details: People who are stressed or anxious are chronically  under-breathing, because stressed people breathe shortly and shallowly, and often even unconsciously hold their breath. By extending your inhale to a count of four, you are forcing yourself to take in more oxygen, allowing the oxygen to affect your bloodstream by holding your breath for seven seconds, and then emitting carbon dioxide from your lungs by exhaling steadily for eight seconds. The technique will effectively slow your heart rate and increase oxygen in your bloodstream, and may even make you feel slightly lightheaded which contributes to the mild sedative-like effect. It will instantly relax your heart, mind, and overall central nervous system because you are controlling the breath versus continuing to breathe short, shallow gasps of air.

Hypnotherapy in Norwich and Wroxham

A good friend of mine requested a hypnotherapy treatment: strong, unwanted emotions were tearing into her well being and family relations.

Is hypnosis safe? Isn’t it harmful for your health and mental state? Is it ok to have a few hypnotherapy sessions?” she asked, like so many clients, before treatment.
So I resolved to pull down the veil and bring some light and clarity to a misty subject.

What is Hypnosis?
Paul McKenna, one of the most famous British hypnotherapists, equates our human mind with a computer. Like the computer which is re-programmable, our minds can elicit destructive and unhelpful thought processes or behaviour. Our minds are able to change their focus and engineer new, and greater outcomes.

Hypnosis is a mighty tool for re-wiring the conscious mind. Such is its power, that it can align the conscious and the sub conscious. As a deep relaxation form, hypnosis involves the fixation of attention and engages the imaginative spectrum of the mind.

Conscious and Subconscious MindsIt is a form that allows the human being to elevate above our conscious mindset. Multiple perspectives become visible to us-the unconscious library section is open. It is a powerful technique for bringing out the best in us.

We human beings are actually hypnotised on a daily basis without often knowing it. I am not talking about silly, embarrassing actions like dog barking! The hypnotic trance-like state is similar to those few seconds before you fall asleep or the first seconds of waking up. You are not really asleep and not really awake. When my clients come to see me they are not in a good space: they dislike (even hate) themselves, they feel unworthy, powerless, depressed, anxious or hugely frustrated. They can describe in little detail what’s going wrong and always struggle to see good things in their lives.

Today after a session I gave homework to do to a young man; he has just remembered how good he could feel about himself and about his life. I asked him to practice smiling to people. This exercise is way out of his comfort zone, he hasn’t looked into people’s eyes for 15 years – over half of his life.

Feeling good, experiencing emotions of joy, love, appreciation is our natural state of wellbeing. It’s easy, it is our birthright. Fear, despair, guilt require effort & resistance, they are trained states of the mind. Therefore, these low vibrational energy states can be changed on both conscious and subconscious levels.

Please help me to help this wonderful young man and others by simply smiling more!

Nostalgia was my word for this morning. 21 years ago at the age of 21 I was expecting the biggest gift of my life to be born in a month or so. I was married for a couple of years then and still doing my 5 years metallurgy engineering degree in Tomsk in Siberia. I didn’t possess anything but a few pieces of clothes, most of which I knitted myself as the jumper on this picture. At the time during perestroika in Russia to simply buy milk & bread was a challenge. I still remember how cold that winter was but I Love that place on earth and I do miss my family. It was -32°C recently there and -42°C in Kargasok where my family now is.

Even if I were setting goals I wouldn’t be able to comprehend the expansion of life that I have had and am still experiencing.

My message I guess is simple: Trust in the unfolding. Our own resistance is the only thing that is holding us away from being absolutely happy, healthy and prosperous. As I am, you are exactly where you planed to be before you came into this physical world. Be easy about your life. Take a good care of yourself and those you love and remember that ALL is WELL.
